I've never held a leadership position in school or college. Will this hurt my SSB performance?

I had the same concern before my first SSB. I was never a school captain, sports captain, or club leader, so I assumed I would be at a disadvantage compared to candidates who had those achievements.

Later, I realized that SSB is not looking for leadership titles. It’s looking for leadership qualities. During group tasks, discussions, and interviews, assessors want to see whether you can take responsibility, make sensible decisions, and work well with others.

In fact, some candidates with impressive leadership positions struggle during SSB, while others with no formal leadership experience do very well. What matters is how you behave during the assessment, not the title you had in school or college.
